We have an exciting programme for 2010 – you may notice some changes. Over the years we have realised how popular our lunches are, so now all our days will include one! Once again we have arranged to visit wonderful gardens and to meet fascinating gardeners, which teamed with lunch ensures a special day out.
Increasingly our focus is to gain access to rarely-open private gardens of very high calibre. This season’s treats include Melplash Court and The Old Rectory, Netherbury in Dorset, Rodmarton Manor in Gloucestershire and Cadenham Manor in Wiltshire. We have always aimed to provide instruction in great gardens with really charismatic people – and in this we are constantly drawn back to Cothay Manor in Somerset. It can’t be beaten! Mary Ann Robb, Derry Watkins, Sophie Hughes, Keith Wiley and Libby Russell are our experts this year. Everywhere we turn we encounter people with real concerns about the quality and sources of their food. The answer must be to grow and cook your own. We don’t restrict this to vegetables, but encourage you to explore growing your own meat – it’s simpler than you might think. You’ll find three excellent days with Fergus Dowding, Kate Hughes and Andy Clark.
We very much look forward to seeing you this year.
Kate Murdoch and Annie Prebensen
